Gold & Steel: Bvlgari Celebrates the Convergence of Luxury and Utility

Bvlgari celebrates the return of a House icon with a star-studded lineup.

Italian luxury Maison Bvlgari looks back on its archives for its latest launch: Gold & Steel. Merging audacity and sophistication, the jeweller celebrates one of its boldest beats yet: the unlikely combination of yellow gold and stainless steel, first introduced in the Bvlgari universe in the 1970s. The pairing that revolutionized the world of high jewelry back in the day finds its way back through house staples, including B.zero1 rings, Tubogas jewelry, the Serpenti Tubogas watch and exclusive high jewelry pieces.

A star-packed lineup of international names reintroduces the iconic Gold & Steel duo in 2026. Friends of the House from across the planet, including Heated Rivalry’s heartthrob Hudson Williams, Thai actors Mile Phakphum and Orm Kornnaphat and Turkish screen darling Afra Saraçoğlu, join Bvlgari to celebrate the latest product offerings.

Gold & Steel: The Return of Avant-Garde Expression

For those unacquainted with the high jewelry world, pairing a noble metal and steel might not appear novel. However, gold and steel have long been juxtaposed in origins and meanings—one associated with luxury, the other regarded as a foundational element of the industrial sector.

In the 1970s, LVMH-owned jewelry maker Bvlgari shifted conventions, debuting pieces that integrated both refined gold and highly resistant steel. Crafting steel, famously recognized for its durability, demanded innovation and artisanal mastery. “This challenging approach required cutting-edge technical expertise and ingenious craftsmanship, paving the way for further exploration beyond the boundaries of traditional materials,” explains Bvlgari.

This exploration gave way to a series of novel material combinations, from the 1990s Chandra collection, which merged gold and porcelain, to the B.Zero1 porcelain rings released in the 2010s.

Now, Bvlgari brings material juxtaposition to the spotlight through brand icons reimagined in Gold & Steel.

The B.zero1 ring lineup, for example, includes two designs: a double-band and a quadruple-band with yellow gold bezels. Crafted for everyday wear, the rings boast architectural influences and capture the concept of enduring movement.

As shown by Bvlgari’s celebrity friend roster, the bands’ versatile design allows for an infinity of ways to sport them. Afra Saraçoğlu, for instance, stacks two rings on the same finger in a promotional video posted to her social media. In complementary images, the Turkish star, appointed Friend of the House in 2025, also makes a case for the “multiple rings on multiple fingers” styling, wearing the thicker version of the ring on one hand and contrasting it with the thinner two-band ring on the other.

Meanwhile, Hudson Williams, who has made Bvlgari his go-to jeweller, creates visual balance. The Heated Rivalry star wears a four-band piece on his ring finger and sports a two-band on his pinky.

Bvlgari Tubogas: A Timeless Icon

Bvlgari also introduces the gold and steel pairing into the Tubogas line via necklaces and bracelets that fuse industrial sensibilities and high jewelry design. These items feature a flexible and seamless stainless steel coil, inspired by gas pipes and assembled without soldering. Adding contrast, each piece is punctuated by 18 kt yellow gold studs.

As seen on Friends of the House, Orm Kornnaphat and Mile Phakphum, as well as brand ambassador Ren Meguro, the Bvlgari Tubogas offerings are unisex. Thanks to their structure and stud motif, the lineup boasts a genderless appeal and is easy to introduce into any wardrobe.

The same description extends to the Gold & Steel horology offering: a capsule collection of Serpenti Tubogas Studs watches. This limited-edition launch explores the tension between gold and steel with high-end details such as diamond stones and mother-of-pearl dials.

Need a glimpse into this watch capsule? Look no further than Orm Kornnaphat and Afra Saraçoğlu, who embody the elegance of the Gold & Steel watch selection in imagery posted to their social media feeds.

Already available in selected Bvlgari stores worldwide, the Gold & Steel collection is a testament to Bvlgari’s experimentation and ability to adapt to the times. With an unexpected creative dialogue that bridges luxury and utility, these avant-garde designs are set to become icons for the new generation, as proven by the lineup of A-listers that Bvlgari enlisted to promote the drop.
