The Top Moments at Paris Fashion Week

From Sarah Burton’s Givenchy debut and Valentino’s public bathroom to Felix’s runway return, these are the top seven moments at Paris Fashion Week.

As the last of Fashion Month’s four stops, Paris sees the best of each season. Streetgoers and celebrity attendees put on their best shows alongside fashion’s major players. New collections by heritage brands garner international attention as the Fashion Week frenzy peaks, then comes to a close.

Below, find the top moments from Fall-Winter 2025 Paris Fashion Week.

1. Chappell Roan Takes Over

American singer Chappell Roan took Paris Fashion Week by storm this season. Hopping from one show to another, the star continuously defined style in her own terms. For Rabanne, Roan wore a metallic, open-back dress.

At Rick Owens, the songwriter took a turn towards the abstract. To her signature base eyeshadow and foundation, she added a series of black dots across her face. The look was almost extraterrestrial in nature — a perfect complement to her strapless silver gown.

Roan went more goth-chic for her second day, wearing a full-coverage black dress to support Matieres Fecales’ first-ever Paris Fashion Week show. The “Good Luck, Babe!” singer later took a layered lace outfit to the Yohji Yamamoto show. She was also present at the showings for Vivienne Westwood, Alexander McQueen, Ludovic de Saint Sernin and Valentino, wearing an occasion-appropriate outfit for each event. Despite this being her first Paris Fashion Week, it hardly felt like a debut as the songstress navigated each appearance with style and personality.

2. Comme des Garçons Plays With Size

The Comme des Garçons Fall-Winter 2025 collection toyed with the concept that “smaller is stronger.” However, nothing about the collection was small by any definition. Instead, Rei Kawakubo leaned into extremities. Each whimsical take on womenswear dove into a different manifestation of femininity — floral appliques, traditional silhouettes, shades of pink and purple.

In addition to volume manipulation, Kawakubo worked with diverse textures. Deconstructing the classic pinstripe suit or raising it to an exponential power was Kawakubo’s take on “big business, big culture, global systems” and “world structures.” It was more than a presentation of clothing; Comme des Garçons’ Fall-Winter 2025 runway was also commentary on modern corporate life.

3. Valentino’s Public Restroom

Three words to describe Valentino’s Fall-Winter 2025 runway: bold, different and, most importantly, red. Titled Le Méta-Théâtre Des Intimités, or The Meta-Theater of Intimacies in English, the show was an exploration into intimacy, authenticity and transparency. What better set to convey this message than a public restroom? Diverging from the traditional catwalk, Alessandro Michele staged his collection at the Institut du Monde Arabe, against monochromatic red stalls and tiled floors and walls.

“I imagined a public toilet. It has inside and outside, hidden and exposed. It is a place of coexistence of opposites that neutralizes and suspends all dualities: the personal and the collective, the private and the shared, the deep and the superficial,” wrote Michele in the show notes.

A front-row highlight was, undeniably, the pairing of brand ambassadors Jeff Satur and Freen Sarocha. The Thai darlings posed together in starkly different, yet quintessentially, Valentino looks. Jeff leaned into prep, wearing light trousers and a sweater with a collared shirt peaking from its neckline. Freen, on the other hand, nodded to eras past with a button-up white blouse and knee-length skirt paired with sheer tights and Valentino-red heels.

4. Dior Explores Modernity in Fashion

Maria Grazia Chiuri transformed historical references into contemporary femininity in her most recent collection. Rather than reflecting only retrospectively, Chiuri chose to emphasize the purpose of clothing in the modern age. Taking Gianfranco Ferré’s white shirt as a foundation, Chiuri constructed a series of Ready-To-Wear pieces that explore the contemporary silhouette. One of the few elements of eras past is a reference to Virginia Woolf’s Orlando: an evolved ruff, able to be worn on or off.

The backdrop, created in collaboration with filmmaker Robert Wilson, reflected the historical nature of the show. A large prehistoric bird overlooked the runway as models walked across hot lava projections and icebergs emerging from the floor.

A range of international celebrities joined the audience, wearing primarily black, white and neutrals. House muse and Paris Fashion Week regular Jisoo wore a set that paired a white structured jacket and corset with a tulle skirt. Fashion connoisseur Heart Evangelista flaunted her cherry-red hair and matching sun-kissed blush. Her open oversized shirt complemented the black knee-high boots.

Meanwhile, Turkish actress Tuba Büyüküstün wore a chic two-piece set in all black, with an open shoulder and high bun showing off her minimalist jewelry. Thai talents Orm and Ling Ling Kwong took a structured, formal angle with their outfits: Orm paired her dramatic leather gloves and Lady Dior with a taupe dress, while Ling Ling Kwong wore a sleek black trench dress.

5. The Louvre’s First-Ever Charity Gala

For the first time, The Louvre Museum hosted a fashion charity gala, “Le Grand Dîner du Louvre.” In attendance were the world’s top talents, dressed to the nines — courtesy of fashion’s favorite brands and designers. The guest list was neverending: Gemma Chan in Jason Wu, Doechii in Valentino, Barbara Palvin in Iris van Herpen, Jisoo in Cartier, Anna Sawai in Dior, Gigi Hadid in Moschino and onwards.

All the stars gathered to inaugurate The Louvre’s collection of fashion and arts pieces, “Louvre Couture. Art and Fashion: Statement,” and fundraise for the museum. After a photo opportunity in front of the iconic glass pyramid, over 300 guests went inside for a dinner courtesy of Michelin chef Anne-Sophie Pic.

With a roster of this level, it is only fitting that le Grand Dîner du Louvre is stepping up to mirror New York City’s Met Gala. Backed by luxury conglomerates — Paris is home to fashion’s most powerful players, after all — the event is bound to grow in magnitude and influence in the years to come. The star-studded event marked the start of Paris Fashion Week, setting the tone for an ostentatious week of luxury.

The “Louvre Couture. Art and Fashion: Statement” exhibition will be open to the public until July 21, 2025.

6. Sarah Burton’s First Collection for Givenchy

Sarah Burton, formerly Creative Director of Alexander McQueen, debuted her first collection for Givenchy on March 7. During recent building renovations at Hubert de Givenchy’s atelier, swaths of original fabrics were discovered, hidden within brown paper packets. After unearthing elements from the brand’s first-ever collection, Burton rooted her designs in the very DNA of Givenchy.

Burton highlighted silhouette in her collection, with a tangible emphasis on the hourglass. The collection was refined, with an air of elegance that reflects Burton’s prior tenure. The designer also incorporated notes of masculinity into her design, aiming to create hybridized femininity that emphasized strength. Accentuated lapels and distinguished shoulders stood in stark contrast against fishnets, satin pieces and bejeweled details.

7. Nicolas Ghesquière Celebrates Louis Vuitton’s Travel DNA

Nicolas Ghesquière orchestrated a stunning presentation for Louis Vuitton on March 10. Held at the atrium of the L’Étoile du Nord in the 10th arrondissement of Paris, the Fall-Winter 2025 show channeled a train station. Fitting against the backdrop, Ghesquière’s new collection was energetic and unconventional, with movement and performance at its center. The runway celebrated the essence of travel with every detail, referencing travel gear and leather goods. The brand even brought back its first ever clock, transformed into the  “LV II” timepiece.

K-pop idol Felix Lee made a buzzworthy return to Paris Fashion Week, once again taking to the runway. Wearing a loose-fitting ensemble in contrasting prints, he showed off the new L’Express Bag. Off the clock, Felix also shared an endearing moment with actress Jun Ji-hyun and fellow pop star Lisa.

Drawing attention in the front row were none other than some of Louis Vuitton’s resident Thai stars. Extending her worldwide domination was Lisa, who attended the show in an all-black get-up. After the release of her album, appearance on The White Lotus and Oscars performance, it was only fitting that Lisa returned to Paris for her cross-industry tour. Actress and model Urassaya Sperbund, or Yaya, as her fans affectionately call her, made a splash of her own in white and cream. Wearing three-quarter striped bottoms and a statement neckpiece. Other front row attendees bringing star power to the event were Phoebe Dynevor, Chloe Grace Moretz, Jaden Smith, Saoirse Ronan, Ana de Armas and Emma Stone.
