Kicking off summer on a stylish note, this year, icons from all over the world touched down in Milan to discover the city’s fashion offerings. Displaying the country’s saper fare, brands like Prada, Tod’s and Brunello Cucinelli unveiled collections heavily focused on highlighting the craftsmanship of their ateliers. Meanwhile, brands such as Vivienne Westwood and Ralph Lauren’s Purple Label brought international perspectives to the Italian runways.
In Paris, emblematic French brands including Louis Vuitton, Saint Laurent and Dior attracted the world’s major stars with heavily produced shows and buzzy debuts—Jonathan Anderson presented his first collection at the helm of Dior. But not everything was about legacy fashion houses and over-the-top events. A young, creative crowd flocked to the city to support emerging brands and designers.
