All the new music releases we welcomed fall with, from Valentina Ploy’s “Rebecca” and BGYO’s “Dance With Me” to Sebastián Yatra, Lucho RK, Belinda & Gente De Zona’s end-of-summer team-up “Canción Para Regresar.”

At the end of each month, we go On the Record to share the songs we’ve added to our playlist. Bringing the international music scene straight to your device, each list contains a combination of established and up-and-coming artists from around the world.

Ushering in a new season, September delivered new music releases for all tastes. For our curated playlist, we included everything, from South Korean dance pop to Panamanian R&B and alternative pop.

A$AP Ferg – “FERG STRONG”

Fast-paced, edgy and aggressive: look no further for three words to describe A$AP Ferg’s latest single, “FERG STRONG.” As the name of the song implies, Ferg delivers a constant flow over an intense instrumental, whose seemingly discordant elements somehow meld into hard-hitting, organized chaos.

5 Seconds of Summer – “NOT OK”

After a years-long break from group promotions to explore solo projects, 5 Seconds of Summer returned with “NOT OK,” the first single off their upcoming album. The energetic track marks the start of a new era for the band, whose sound has continuously evolved over the last decade. It’s a nod to their angst-filled, pop-rock roots, with a catchy chorus that encourages listeners to jump and shout along.

Rhea Raj – “Killer”

Rhea Raj continues to construct her sultry pop persona on “Killer.” The criminally short alt-pop track plays with intricate instrumental layers as Raj explores the intersection of her South Asian identity and bold femininity. Though originally released as part of her August EP COMMOTION, the song was given new energy with a standalone single release in September—when it became a regular rotation on our monthly playlist.

BUS – “BB”

Thai-pop boy group BUS made a sultry comeback in September, appeasing excited fans everywhere. “BB” is guided by its notable bass line, balancing husky spoken verses with airy vocals for a pleasant contrast. With an unpredictable exchange between the group’s members, “BB” holds the listener from beginning to end.

3Quency – “Top Down”

After competing on (and, more importantly, winning) Netflix’s Building the Band, US girl group 3Quency finally made their musical debut in September. “Top Down,” the trio’s first single, is a contemporary girl group hit, combining Y2K attitude with 2025 aesthetics. 3Quency members Brianna Mazzola, Nori Moore and Wennely Quezada flex the skills that got them first place on Building the Band to a hypnotic concoction of strings, hi-hats and synth.

RAYE – “WHERE IS MY HUSBAND!”

Ever the creative innovator, British singer-songwriter RAYE made an exciting and theatrical return with “WHERE IS MY HUSBAND!” The song plays with sass, jazz and energy in an overwhelmingly refreshing way. To top it off, this upbeat track holds a moving message; RAYE gently reminds listeners to take their time with romantic love and instead prioritize their most important relationship: the one with themselves.

DAYOUNG – “body”

Can the song of the summer be released in time for autumn? Clearly, DAYOUNG of WJSN would say duh. The K-pop singer released her first-ever solo single, “body,” just in time for us to close out our summer playlist. “body” is a dance pop track performed almost entirely in English, inviting international audiences to share in the melody. It contains all the quintessential elements of South Korea’s biggest pop hits, including a catchy chorus, refreshing synths and tangibly high energy.

flowerovlove – “I’m your first”

UK singer flowerovlove brought her unabashed Gen Z energy to her latest track, “I’m your first.” This classic pop track is equal parts playful and self-confident, carefree while committed to the vision. Above all else, it’s a fun, youthful release that communicates flowerovlove’s distinct creative direction.

BGYO – “Dance With Me”

Expanding their list of 2025 releases, BGYO released “Dance With Me,” off their Headlines EP. “Dance With Me” is an understated pop track, with rhythmic snapping and soft electronic scales constructing the catchy instrumental. Nearly five years into their career, BGYO continue to explore genres and performance styles—“Dance With Me” is complementary to the other tracks on Headlines, all of which showcase BGYO’s dance chops, vocal abilities and incredibly satisfying harmonies.

Valentina Ploy – “Rebecca”

This month, Thai-Italian singer Valentina Ploy dropped the first single off her album Warm, Part II, set for release on December. Titled “Rebecca,” the song has a simple, groovy instrumental that leads with an acoustic guitar and rhythmic percussion. In the accompanying music video, Ploy performs the upbeat song surrounded by (and wearing) ample leopard print. As Ploy shared in a YouTube comment, the meaning of “Rebecca” is up to interpretation, leaving room for listeners to channel the song in a way that fits them, at whatever chance.

Sebastián Yatra, Lucho RK, Belinda & Gente De Zona – “Canción Para Regresar”

Sebastián Yatra assembled a team of Latin American artists for the bittersweet “Canción Para Regresar.” As suggested by the title, which translates as “song to return,” this reggaeton track plays with nostalgia and life’s what-ifs. Alongside Yatra, Lucho RK, Belinda and Gente De Zona sing to a past lover over a tropics-ready soundtrack. The accompanying music video is a visual journey across the song’s creative process, combining travel, beaches, recording studios, and everyday moments from the artists.

Daecolm – “Special”

Though summer is over, “Special” by Zimbabwe-born Daecolm invites audiences around the world to keep the party going. “Special” is Daecolm’s first solo single, and captures the essence of his genre-melding sound authentically. Daecolm infused this track with his multicultural upbringing, introducing tantalizing elements of Afro-House and R&B to the instrumental.

Boza & Sech – “Paris”

Panamanian artists Boza and Sech released the mellow “Paris” at the end of September. Slow-paced and minimalistic, “Paris” sits at the increasingly-explored intersection of R&B and Amapiano. In their first-ever collaborative single, Boza and Sech detail a strong longing for the lyrical subject, whose photos in Paris become a topic of discussion.

Eby – “Untukmu Aku Bertahan”

Former Dangdut Academy contestant Eby started September with the melancholy “Untukmu Aku Bertahan.” The song, whose title translates to “For You I Hold On,” was originally performed by Afgan in 2013. Eby’s cover was dedicated to his fans, a gentle and sentimental reminder of the appreciative relationship between singer and listener. To put his unique touch on the track, Eby introduced new instrumental elements, while minimising the classical piano present in Afgan’s original release.
