The stars rocked the pantless trend with custom Louis Vuitton looks.
On the first Monday in May, fashion’s most elite event brings global A-listers to New York City. At the Met Gala, international celebrities congregate for a night of high-fashion splendor and fundraising for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute.
This year, attendees brought the best of their style — some notable names, however, intentionally forgot one essential at home: bottoms. Lisa and Sabrina Carpenter, in particular, owned the pantless trend with a little help from Louis Vuitton.
Making a Case for Monograms
Lisa made her trendy Met Gala debut this year with Louis Vuitton. Now easily recognizable as a face of the brand, Lisa sported the famous House monogram over her entire outfit. The K-pop idol, international rapper and, more recently, actress, wore a delicate see-through blazer over a cheeky bodysuit. To match her monogram-printed sheer tights, Lisa carried a black Louis Vuitton purse printed with the monogram in white.
And in case you were wondering where the special details were, Lisa’s body suit featured art by Henry Taylor, who is recognized for his paintings depicting Black culture.
Beauty-wise, Lisa opted for an understated makeup look, drawing attention to her eyes with smoky eyeliner and defined lashes. Meanwhile, her hair was set in a loose top-knot and her nails, perfectly manicured by Juan Alvear, carried Louis Vuitton charms.

Sabrina’s Short n’ Sweet Look
Also dressed in Louis Vuitton, red carpet regular Sabrina Carpenter added another look to her catalogue. Sabrina’s interpretation of the night’s theme involved a tuxedo-inspired bodysuit and coat jacket combination. The dark maroon custom ensemble contrasted tastefully with Sabrina’s blue eyes and familiar Barbie-blonde hair.
Though her look featured subtle pinstriped fabric, Sabrina didn’t sacrifice grandeur: dramatic coattails followed behind as she climbed the iconic steps of the Met. To complete her look, the “Please, Please, Please” singer wore muted makeup — nude lipstick, earth-toned eyeshadow and dusty rose-colored blush — and accessorised with jewelry from Chopard.

Met Slays
For both women, the Met Gala is one of many career-defining events as of late. After her on-screen debut in HBO Max’s The White Lotus, Lisa released her first full-length solo album Alter Eg, on February 28. Just a couple of weeks ago, the Thai star completed her first solo performance at Coachella.
Meanwhile, Sabrina is still on her buzzing Short n’ Sweet World Tour, following her first-ever Grammy wins earlier this year.
