Lisa and Rowoon Elevate the Classic Tuxedo at the 2025 Oscars

Global stars Rowoon and Lisa put a unique twist on the classic tuxedo for the 97th annual Oscars.

The 2025 Oscars inspired the best of fashion from Hollywood’s biggest stars on Sunday, March 2. Though the ceremony awards exceptional films, the event acts simultaneously as a fashion convention of the highest regard. Even among the various A-list attendees, K-pop idols-turned-international sensations Lisa and Rowoon stood out for their evening attire: a refreshing take on the classic tuxedo.

Rowoon Goes for Gold

South Korean singer and actor Rowoon took the Oscars as an opportunity to dazzle. Wearing a sleek ensemble by Amiri, the star’s outfit reflected the night’s grandeur with gold detailing and a matching brooch by Tiffany & Co. The extra touch of pinstriped sparkle on Rowoon’s suit jacket elevated the classic tuxedo. Meanwhile, a loose tie and fitted white top, visible beneath his lapels, gave Rowoon an effortless charm. The Oscars are Hollywood’s biggest night, and Rowoon was clearly in his element.

Lisa Shows Her Alter Ego

Ahead of her riveting performance with Doja Cat and RAYE, Thai rapper Lisa walked the red carpet in a floor-length tuxedo dress by Mark Gong. From the waist up, Lisa appeared to wear a regular tuxedo, complete with silky notch lapels and a flower brooch. One full scan, however, revealed the hems of her suit jacket and dress shirt hovering at her feet. The look was nothing short of classy, complete with subdued black dress pants and tasteful silver jewelry. For a hint of drama, Lisa brandished long nails in a black and grey ombre crafted by Juan Alvear — perhaps hinting at what was to come later in the evening.

Taking on increasingly global projects, both Rowoon and Lisa continue to prove their star power. With hordes of admirers flocking to support their Oscars appearances, it’s no wonder both talents have found success outside of their K-pop roots.

Rowoon continues to expand his acting catalogue this year with Disney+, reportedly working on the upcoming TakryuAt the same time, Lisa made her screen debut on HBO Max’s The White Lotus and released her highly-anticipated album Alter Ego on February 28. Solo performances and a group comeback with BLACKPINK are slated to follow before the end of the year.
