KATSEYE Brings the Girl Group “Touch” to Gap

Everything is “Better in Denim” in KATSEYE’s new Gap campaign.

With the way things are playing out, 2025 may just be the year of KATSEYE. Successful music releases, groundbreaking performances, and strategic partnerships have brought the sextet onto everyone’s radar.

In their latest venture, the girl group partnered with US clothing brand Gap. The group fronts Gap’s Fall 2025 Campaign and is set to release a limited-edition KATSEYE hoodie.

“Better in Denim,” an ode to the early aughts

Titled “Better in Denim,” Gap’s Fall 2025 campaign is an ode to pop music from the early aughts. In the accompanying images, KATSEYE members Sophia, Manon, Daniela, Lara, Megan and Yoonchae epitomise the glamour of pop stardom, dressed in Y2K-leaning denim staples.

In a routine choreographed by Robbie Blue and soundtracked by the 2000s classic “Milkshake,” the group executes moves from across dance genres. As the ad unfolds, it becomes obvious why Gap picked KATSEYE for the gig — even moving in perfect synchronicity, each member introduces personalized charm. “Gap didn’t ask us to fit in — they invited us to show up as we are,” KATSEYE shared in a press statement.

From everyday pieces to limited-edition items

This individuality is also reflected in the Gap Fall 2025 collection. Each piece highlights the legacy of Gap’s denim offerings, modelled by KATSEYE. Specifically, Gap is reviving its Long & Lean jeans from the 2000s with a modernized fit. “Better in Denim” will include a variety of denim fits, from low to high rise and skinny to baggy silhouettes. The range is intended to enable expressive movement without sacrificing personal style.

“‘Better in Denim’ is the best expression of who the brand is today — fresh, relevant, original and undeniably Gap,” stated Mark Breibard, Gap’s President and CEO.

Of course, no collaboration would be complete without a limited-edition collector’s item. In this case, KATSEYE created an exclusive hoodie with the group’s name presented in the Gap’s signature arch. The hoodie (and broader collection) will be available for pre-order starting August 22.

Successful across the board

Catering to KATSEYE’s vast Gen Z audience as well as nostalgic Millennials, “Better in Denim” has experienced instant success. Amid a rollout of controversial advertising campaigns in the US, Gap has marked a distance from rage-bait. Instead, they have received positive public attention with an uplifting and nostalgia-driven strategy.

As reported by data company Launchmetrics, between August 19 and 21, “Better in Denim” accrued $822K in Media Impact Value only through the announcement placement. The post in question, a collaborative reel shared on Gap and Katseye‘s Instagram accounts, outperformed the brand’s regular content by 100 times. Ultimately, the campaign generated a total of $2.2 million in MIV during the same time frame.
