Bvlgari Staged a Greek Theater to Unveil the Polychroma Collection

Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Lisa Manobal, Viola Davis, and Liu Yifei graced the event, held at the Greek Theatre of Taormina.

Bvlgari landed in Taormina, Italy, on May 19 to present its latest high-jewelry collection, Polychroma. The brand unveiled 250 new high-jewelry designs with an enchanting fête on the Sicilian coast. Celebrity ambassadors Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Lisa Manobal, Viola Davis, and Liu Yifei—the night’s guests of honor—debuted some of the collection’s most exquisite pieces.

A Night of Grandeur

The Italian jeweler kicked off the gala at the Grand Hotel Timeo, where they hosted a private dinner. The hotel’s panoramic terrace overlooking Mount Etna and the Ionian Sea, as well as the splendid table art and decoration of Caltagirone ceramics and neo-antique statues, stood out at first glance.

Following the dinner, guests attended a presentation at the Greek Theatre of Taormina in the Naxos-Taormina Archaeological Park. The performance, divided into three acts, drew inspiration from Greek tragedies, combining art, fashion and craftsmanship. The mastermind behind the show was Wayne McGregor, Resident Choreographer of the Royal Ballet, who served as the event’s creative director.

In addition to the jewelry, models walked down the stage, sporting dresses by Francesco Murano, one of this year’s LVMH Prize finalists.

Dressed to Impress

Although the night was all about Bvlgari’s new creations, the list of celebrity attendants was equally noteworthy.

Award-winning actor Viola Davis graced the red carpet, dressed in a total black ensemble. The look consisted of a velvet bodice and high-slit silk skirt by Mugler. The centerpiece of Davis’ outfit was the “Garnet Nimbus,” a kunzite and pear mandarin necklace, styled with matching earrings, bracelet and ring. Meanwhile, Chinese star Liu Yifei went for a nude Elie Saab dress from the brand’s Spring 2025 Haute Couture collection. She elevated the ‘fit with the “Cornucopia Gems” necklace, which featured tourmalines and violet sapphires.

Priyanka Chopra, who boasts a longstanding association with Bvlgari, opted for a Dior dress by John Galliano. Chopra took her loose-fitting gown to the next level with a “Serpenti Invisible Violet” necklace.

On the other hand, multihyphenate star Lisa—another permanent fixture at Bvlgari events worldwide—stunned in a Krikor Jabotian gown. The Thai singer, actress and Bvlgari campaign star put a theatrical spin on the red carpet with a column dress, accentuated by a dramatic yellow neckline piece. Similar to the other attendants, Lisa had first dibs on jewelry from the Polychroma collection, most specifically, a yellow diamond pavé necklace titled “Serpenti Sunburst.”

Bvlgari Polychroma Showroom

As it is Bvlgari’s tradition, the presentation was accompanied by a showroom opening. On this occasion, the chosen venue was the San Domenico Palace, where Bvlgari set what they describe as their “most ambitious showroom to date.” The jewelry display includes 600 high-end creations, including 60 pieces that surpass the million-dollar mark.

Further channeling Bvlgari’s marriage of craftsmanship and art, art pieces graced the space. Seven Carrara marble and gold leaf sculptures by artist Riccardo Gatti adorned the collection’s most iconic pieces, while one-of-a-kind ceramic and volcanic stone elements by Sicilian duo Malagioie reflected the Greek inspiration informing the main collection

Finally, five of Bvlgari’s most precious creations from the “Gallery of Wonders” are displayed alongside textile artworks by visual artist Zach Lieberman, known for creating code-based interactive art.
