“This brand has been a real constant for football fans over the year. There’s a certain attitude to being a good sport that is very British and very Burberry.”

— Daniel Lee, Burberry’s Chief Creative Officer.

With sports so deeply tied to British culture, the campaign features designs that merge utilitarian sensibilities, comfort and functionality.

“Burberry’s signature styles today also feature functionality to protect people from the weather. They appeal to a wide range of people, from avid fans who will go to watch games even in bad weather to casual fans who only enjoy the sport when the weather is nice,” explains the brand.

The item lineup also borrows inspiration from the “terrace style” (casual subculture) that saw its peak in the ’80s, influenced by continental Europe’s sportwear brands and designer labels. Channeling the subculture’s connection to football aesthetics, Burberry’s offerings span button-down shirts, cashmere scarves and polo shirt wth the brand signature check. The brand also promotes the “Lancaster” parka (gradient check tropical gabardine parka) in this campaign.

As for accessories, the iconic Burberry Check bag, the Primrose bag and the Pocket Bag are predominantly featured as stadium-friendly options for football aficionados.
