Asian Excellence Meet at the Weibo Culture Exchange Night 2025

It was Asia’s pop culture paradise!

China’s largest social media platform, Weibo, celebrated the Weibo Cultural Exchange Night in Thailand on August 16. The event, part festival, part award ceremony, commemorated 50 years of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand. The star-studded list of awardees and attendees spanned Thai, Chinese and South Korean entertainment luminaries.

These are the highlights from the big night celebrating Asian excellence.

Stars Brought their A+ Style Game

Asian stars have grown a reputation as trendsetters due to their style-savviness and involvement with fashion brands. In consonance, the Weibo Cultural Exchange Night kicked off with a masterful display of red carpet looks. Elaborate gowns, classy suits, bold statements and glamorous get-ups were the order of the day.

Screen queens Orm Kornnaphat and LingLing Kwong walked the red carpet in contrasting Dior ensembles, while Sonya Saranphat and Lookmhee Punyapat opted for body-hugging silhouettes.

Spotlighting Asian music acts

Music acts had a moment to shine on and off the stage. Showcasing Thai entertainment’s expansion to the music realm, acts such as Perses, DICE, Pixxie, SuperThai and A:SIDE graced the event. The T-pop stars put a stylish spin, going for stage-leaning looks and coordinated fashion to walk the red carpet.

Korean music acts Kep1er, Jessica Jung and Park Jae-chan also stood on stage, bringing the spotlight to South Korean entertainment.

The international team-up between Thai actor Billkin and Taiwanese actress and musician Nana Ouyang was a highlight from the performances. The pair performed a rendition of “Nothing’s Gonna Change My Love For You” by George Benson, bringing out the best of both artists’ styles and delighting fans with a charming performance.

PP Krit and Nanon, among others, also left a mark onstage, showcasing Thailand’s sonic diversity and the artists’ ability to build multifaceted careers in entertainment.

A Playground for Diversity

While the event was held at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok, the list of attendees surpassed the confines of Thailand.  Spotlighting the ties between both countries, various Chinese celebrities were in attendance. Shen Yue, Zhang Yuxi, Ouyang Nana, Zhan Xuan, Chen Feiyu and more stepped out for the occasion.

In addition to Kep1er, Jessica Jung and Park Jae-chan, actor Lee Soo-hyuk attended the big night, representing South Korea.

Awards and More Awards

Although the lineup, diversity and style at the Weibo Cultural Exchange Night were remarkable on their own, the night’s highest point was the award ceremony. Similar to the previous edition held in Japan in April, the ceremony celebrated industry leaders, celebrities and entertainment professionals, recognizing their cultural contributions and international popularity.

Held in partnership with Hydroindus Entertainment, the Weibo Cultural Exchange Night was an opportunity to acknowledge Thai entertainment’s global expansion, celebrate the ties that bring China and Thailand together and strengthen cooperation with neighboring countries. It was also a step towards Weibo’s internationalization, a strategy that aims to bridge cultures through entertainment.
